PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
Reporting to the General Superintendent on project sites, the Surveyor will be responsible for coordinating and laying out various aspects of the construction project with a high level of accuracy, ensuring the design criteria is adhered to and well documented.
FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Maintain and verify provided control network
• Ensure equipment is maintained and calibrated
• Coordinate and undertake planning and implementation of survey requirements to facilitate construction activities
• Maintain accurate survey records, documentation and stamped submittals
• Provide layout at various stages of construction
• Organize and manage survey operations and personnel
• Collect as-built records and surveyors notes in a specified format
• Experience working with Turnover requirements
• Working experience with Total Station survey gear for large industrial construction projects
• Ability to work with CAD mapping and associated software / hardware
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
• Post-secondary education in Surveying or Geomatics
• Knowledge of survey practices, standards and laws
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in Construction
• expertise on a Trimble S8 total station
• Strong computer skills and proficient in the use of office, data, surveying and engineering based software
• Excellent oral and written communication skills and organizational skills
• Must be able to perform in a fast paced environment while focusing on multiple deadlines
