Under general supervision, to assist an Elections Coordinator in researching, implementing, and communicating ongoing legislation, government codes, requirements, directives, and other vital functions to staff, to the public, and into the elections process; to prepare and maintain all elections calendars; to oversee the nomination petition process; and to perform other duties, as assigned. Positions in this class are distinguished by primary responsibility for assisting a Coordinator in research and analysis and/or in facilitating elections processes including, but not limited to: communicating and coordinating changes in codes and new regulations to staff and the public; maintaining official elections calendars; serving as primary Voter Outreach spokesperson to the public on behalf of the Elections Office in the County Clerk-Recorder/Registrar's Department. The incumbent in this position reports to an Elections Coordinator and is distinguished from that class by the latter's responsibility for analysis of and supervisory coordination over a full variety of election processes. The Elections Coordinator Assistant is further distinguished from the Elections Technician Supervisors by the latter's responsibility for first-line supervision over a technical or elections services unit and from the Elections Technician Series by the Assistant's combined assignment for one or more of the singularly complex and specialized elections processes, ongoing public speaking assignments.
