Under minimal supervision, responsible for designing and delivering software application and service training to customers and employees.   Provides training courses to customers and employees who are undergoing a product installation/conversion, as well as, those who request continuing education. Training courses and workshops are conducted either at a customer's location, via internet based or other eLearning means, or at a JHA location.



  • Designs and delivers software and service training courses or workshops. Creates, designs, and customizes training materials and procedures for each customer situation, and may consult with the customer for appropriate customization.
  • Arranges and/or prepares selected training materials (binders, handouts, class files, presentation materials, visuals, software CDs, exercises, etc.) for use during live and web-based training sessions.
  • Creates reusable eLearning or internet based training sessions.
  • May arrange the training environment (scheduling of rooms and computers for use, location and length of training, attendee list, etc).
  • Tests and maintains software for training purposes.
  • Provides customer follow-up on any questions asked during training that required post-training research. Ensures all questions are answered timely and thoroughly.
  • Makes changes to training materials based on customer feedback and needs assessment. Assesses the quality of training formats and/or procedures.
  • Seeks increased knowledge of features and functions of products and services. Increases knowledge of current training techniques and practices. Keeps current on product changes and upgrades.
  • Troubleshoots and debugs issues prior to, during, and after installations.
  • Prioritizes tasks and documents problems.
  • Keeps informed of most recent industry trends.
  • May participate in user conferences.
  • Supports and trains less experienced peers.
  • May assist less experienced peers.



  • Associate’s degree required.  Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Six to nine years of experience in software applications training, educational design, or a related field; or
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
  • Training certification preferred.



  • Has a wide range of experience and able to resolve complex issues.  Works on complex and diverse projects.  Analysis requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.  Exercises good judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining solutions.
  • Excellent knowledge of the financial industry.
  • Excellent knowledge of JHA products.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, internet based training tools, and a tutorial building software.
  • Able to design and deliver software applications training.
  • Able to meet aggressive deadlines.
  • Strong communication, customer interaction, project management, and public speaking skills.



  • Typical office setting with environmentally controlled conditions.
  • Able to work extended hours as business needs dictate.
  • Overnight travel required.
