DESCRIPTION

SUMMARY

Coordinates decisions and activities of the team to provide programming support for existing software enhancements for customers or internal organizations.  Completes individual programmer analyst tasks while providing direction to other programmer analyst resources. 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Develops programming code for existing software enhancements. 
  • Devises block diagrams, logic procedures and prepares flowcharting.
  • Troubleshoots and debugs existing code.
  • Tests code and fixes to ensure quality.
  • Develops conversion and system implementation plans; implements newly created code and fixes into existing software.
  • Provides programming support for various interfaces.
  • Keeps customers informed of all enhancements, troubleshooting, and fixes.
  • Creates all programming documentation.
  • Completes project bids.
  • Ensures schedules are met and problems are resolved.
  • Schedules year-end events.  Assigns monthly work schedules and Customer Work Requests (CWRs). Approves PTO.  Provides input to the performance appraisal process.
  • May act as a team lead.
     

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of six years experience in programming or a related field; or
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. 

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Coordinates team to complete predetermined assignments that are subject to a moderate level of control and review using established guidelines, procedures, and policies.  Works on escalated issues; follows standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations from which answers can be readily obtained.  Coordinates daily operations of a team; requires full knowledge of own area of functional responsibility.
  • Able to write software code; excellent knowledge of appropriate programming language(s).
  • Able to meet aggressive deadlines.
  • Able to assign work schedules and work requests in a manner that best uses available resources.
  • Excellent knowledge of the financial industry.
  • Excellent knowledge of applicable Change Management System.
  • Excellent communication and customer interaction skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Typical office setting with environmentally controlled conditions.
  • Occasional overnight travel required.
  • Able to work extended hours as business needs dictate.
  • Able to participate in on-call rotation to provide assistance to general support.
