Administers the Audit Services function for the system. This includes the performance of audit risk analyses to identify exposure areas throughout the system, establish the scope of audit activity, determines audit priorities, plans and organizes departmental activity and effectively deploys audit staff.

Role Purpose

Responsible for developing, coordinating and performing all components of internal compliance, operational, financial, and Control Self-Assessment audits for BJC HealthCare (System). The duties include, but are not limited to, assessing the control environment and developing the appropriate audit methodology, performing detailed audit procedures and assessing results, and communicating audit findings to management at all levels and assisting management in developing appropriate action plans.


  • Provides business consulting services to management at all levels and performs independent analyses of business operations.
  • Prepares written reports to inform management of audit findings and appropriate action plans to address compliance or control matters.
  • Assesses system compliance with internal policies and external regulations and evaluates the internal control structure of the organization.
  • Coordinates and facilitates the internal control assessment process and documents the internal control structure of System departments.
  • Directs, counsels, and instructs staff auditors, as assigned, and reviews their work.
