A Senior Project Manager is completely responsible for the EBIT performance of the assigned project(s) irrespective of the sector or commercial model in which the work is being performed. Authority limitations are in accordance with and remain as identified in the Policies & Procedures manual. A Senior Project Manager is responsible for the development of business opportunities as they relate to the preparation and delivery of proposals including the execution strategies and procedures utilized for the delivery of projects.
The responsibility for the professional development of Engineers in Training and other technical staff resides with the Senior Project Manager as does the make-up and composition of talent for each project under their control
Prepare short and long term projections and forecasts for identified projects Prepare project revenue targets and budgets and update as required Responsible for the development of business opportunities as they apply to the account. Facilitate a first hand business relationship with customers at decision-making levels.
Current understanding of association and professional requirements. Identification of EIT licence requirements. Review of PEO salary standards.
PROPOSAL AND ESTIMATING
Identification of threats to project delivery and establishment of suitable counter measures. Prepare contracts and negotiate revisions, changes and additions to contractual agreements with architects, consultants, clients, suppliers and subcontractors. Plan and prepare construction schedules. Plan and prepare milestones and monitor progress against established schedules. Implement quality control programs. Represent company on matters such as business services and union contracts negotiation. Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate construction projects from start to finish according to schedule, specifications and budget. Prepare progress reports and issue progress scheduled to clients. Direct the purchase of building materials and land acquisitions. Hire and supervise the activities and subcontractors and subordinate staff. Plan construction projects from start to finish according to schedule, specifications and budget. Establish resources required to execute projects. Facilitate project turnover meetings and foster information exchange from proposal team. Select the management and supervision team to execute the projects. Ultimate responsibility for the execution of the work in terms of safety, project management strategies, schedule, cost, manpower and client communications. Total responsibility for financial, accounting, reporting associated with the project. Post job analysis of all major projects. Responsible for management of claims to their ultimate settlement.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Informal safety inspections. Provide supervisory guidance to project personnel. Preparation of succession plans. Ensure that all employees are fully trained for the function they are expected to fulfill
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Minimum 15 years of construction management experience.
Post Secondary College technical diploma is preferred or equivalent construction industry experience Business development & commercial knowledgeUnderstanding of applicable legislative and licensing requirements Negotiation and dispute resolution skillsDemonstrated oral and written communication skillsProblem solving and organizational skillsPlanning and organizational talent to facilitate desired outcomeMultiple Project Management delivery models for project executionProficient use in Microsoft Office products
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS OVERVIEW:

Annual Salary: $100,000 - $130,000 per year
