Pali Momi Medical Center overlooks majestic Pearl Harbor on the island of O‘ahu. With 116 beds and more than 390 physicians on its medical staff, Pali Momi has delivered many medical firsts to the community, including West O‘ahu’s only interventional cardiac catheterization unit for the detection and treatment of heart disease, a fully integrated minimally invasive surgical suite, CT scan and MRI services, emergency services, a Women’s Center and the state’s first Retina Center. Pali Momi is the only facility in Hawai‘i that utilizes a team triage approach in its Emergency Room, where patients are promptly evaluated by an emergency physician. For five consecutive years, the American Heart Association has recognized the hospital with its Gold Award for excellence in the treatment of coronary artery disease and its Gold Plus Award for Heart Failure, making it one of only 7 in the nation to receive this distinction.
At Pali Momi, the Quality Management team strengthens the organization by promoting a data-driven approach to systematic quality and improvement. The team maintains accreditation status with The Joint Commission and with Federal and State regulating agencies. It supports the mission of the organization by ensuring that appropriate quality tools are used to measure and facilitate performance improvements, and promoting a culture of safety. Among other services, the department staff participates in national quality programs to ensure the monitoring of quality performance and evaluate how standards are being met.
If you have meticulous, highly organized and rigorous work skills, you could help the Infection Control department maintain our network of hospitals and clinics the safest, most secure health care environments possible. As the Infection Control Coordinator, will ensure that the department’s work to keep nosocomial infection under control. We are looking for someone with a singular commitment to quality control and accurate data collection, willingness to work with others in a team-oriented atmosphere and a commitment to delivering the highest quality health care to Hawai‘i’s people.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in nursing, epidemiology and/or equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Current Hawai‘i Registered Nurse License. Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR card. Minimum three (3) years experience in Epidemiology and Infection Control.
Preferred Qualifications: Completion of hospital infection control course. Current Certification in Infection Control (CIC) or Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC) or Centers for Disease Control (CDC) certification. Experience in hospital infection control, prevention, and surveillance. Experience with program development and/or project coordination.
