Property/Location: Head Office, Burnaby
This dynamic role calls for an engaged professional with technical expertise, problem solving skills, and leadership skills.
This position will manage the execution of a company renovation and ensure the timely completion of the project. Using your organizational skills you will assist in planning and scope development, monitor the progress of the project, and control the schedule and budget.
- Manages consultant and construction disciplines in ensuring that efficiency, cost effectiveness, timeliness and quality control are achieved through to construction completion.
Directs the design and construction teams to maintain the integrity and quality of the project through ongoing cost reviews, inspections and coordination meetings.
Manages the owner’s schedules and oversees the contractor’s schedules to ensure coordinated and efficient completion of the project.
Assists in establishing the overall project duration, researches in detail the various components and how they interrelate to determine the timeliest program.
Reviews schedule updates and modifies sequences and time frames.
Leads the tendering process to procure owner-supplied equipment including: security and surveillance systems, fixtures, furniture and equipment (FF&E), Audio Visual systems/components, kitchen equipment, etc.
Administers and implements procedures to incorporate all aspects of the project involving the client, consultants, government authorities, contractors and other related parties.
Assists in submissions to the various authorities governing the work.
What You Will Require:
3 to 5 years’ experience as a Project Coordinator or 1 to 2 years’ experience as Project Manager with small commercial projects and/or custom residential
Experience with hospitality, restaurant or casino projects is an asset
Diploma from a technical institute or degree in Civil Engineering or Architectural Building Science
Prior experience with local development and construction projects
Ability to liaise with approving authorities, direct design teams and supervise contractors
Proficiency with email, Word, Excel, Web browsers and Microsoft Project software
Excellent time management, communication and problem solving skills
Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities and deadlines
Ability to work successfully in a team environment
Ability to work flexible hours
- Occasional travel to various Company casino sites (reliable transportation required)
- Some overtime work and/or work outside of regular day shift hours may be required from time to time
