DESCRIPTION

The Communications Content and Social Media Specialist develops and delivers the corporate digital content and strategy for the BCLC corporate website, internal digital communication vehicles and corporate social media activities.This role works collaboratively with internal and external partners to ensure consistent, relevant and engaging content is developed for all digital communication.
Key Accountabilities:
  • Develops relevant and engaging content for BCLC’s corporate website, intranet and corporate social media activities, including leading the production process for video content.
  • Develops and implements BCLC’s digital strategy for corporate channels.
  • Ensures corporate content on internal and external digital communications channels aligns with overall communications strategy and with the enterprise-wide digital strategy.
  • Monitors, tracks, evaluates and measures the impact of corporate content and emerging issues.
  • Identifies opportunities to grow BCLC’s corporate social media and digital presence.
  • Supports social media issues management and maintains BCLC’s social media crisis plan, including annual testing and updates.
  • Ensures that copy, images, logos and creative concepts are aligned to the corporate brand.
  • Oversees BCLC’s intranet, working with internal content contributors, developing content pages and managing the site architecture.
  • Provides assistance and recommendations for applying corporate digital communications best practices to internal and external communications channels.
  • Proactively builds, develops, maintains and manages strong working relationships throughout the organization.

Technical Requirements
  • Proficiency in Hootsuite, Radian6, Adobe Photoshop;
  • Sound knowledge of principles, concepts, practices and techniques in the areas of strategic digital communications;
  • Demonstrated experience in the strategic development and implementation of communication plans and materials;
  • Ability to work within tight deadlines and with close attention to detail;
  • Exceptional project management, time management and multi-tasking skills;
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical thinking/innovation;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Strong computer skills – MS office suite;
  • General business acumen;
  • Understanding of B.C. gaming industry and its regulatory requirements is an asset.
