This Client Director role in SAO is a leadership role, responsible for setting strategy for the New York City local government account which is of substantial strategic and revenue generating importance. We are looking for a high energy, world-class, Sales Leader. An over-achiever, who has experience setting sales strategy and who has prior experience leading and mentoring a high performing sales team. There are 3 Sales Executives who report to this Client Director. The ideal candidate will reside in the NY Tri-State area.
In this role you will be charged with developing a trust-based, value add relationship with the CIO and other Executives of NYC Local Government and you will serve as the global engagement partner. It will be your responsibility to grow the account to a specified target over the next 3 - 5 years and to achieve specific annual revenue. As the Client Director you will maintain and develop sound business relationships with the Client, and the internal team to position Gartner as a resource to utilize for new projects. You will provide strong oversight to management of the engagement and ensure effective project management processes are in place so that quality, schedule, service delivery and profitability goals are met and exceeded, and drive value for both the Client and Gartner.
10 + years of proven consultative selling experience in IT products and services to large global companies.
5+ year of sales leadership experience of leading a team of field sales reps engaged in the sale of IT products and services.
· Previous experience selling into NY State or Local Government agencies is highly preferred
· Proven experience in driving high volume business development and high client satisfaction in complex global accounts
· Demonstrated ability to lead a virtual account team of sales and sales partners in a consultative sales capacity that result in exceeding multiple quota elements
· Expertise in establishing trusted advisor relationships up through CXO levels
· Ability to exert strong leadership skills to deal with senior client executives as well as align the individual business lines to develop the customized solution
· Superior written and oral communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts and issues in client terms to all levels of management and staff
· Strong organizational and time management skills
· Bachelors degree required, Advanced degree or equivalent preferred
